Question: Who should I discuss my decision to move into Townsend Park with?
Answer: We recommend that you discuss this with your family, friends, a trusted advisor or an advisory body such as Citizens Advice Bureau. Additionally we suggest that you have your solicitor look over the Resident Contract and provide explanation to you on areas that you may not be clear on.
Question: How can I speak with some of the existing residents of Townsend Park about their experiences living in the estate?
Answer: There are many residents of Townsend Park who would be happy to tell you about their lifestyle in the best stage of their life. You can see from the testimonials that people love the life here. Our Estate Manager can arrange for you to meet with members of the Townsend Park Social Committee over a cup of tea or coffee. Simply let us know what your requirements are and we will make the arrangements for you.
Question: Will the lifestyle of the village such as social activities suit me?
Answer: Although the existing residents enjoy a very active social environment, there are no obligations for anyone to feel they have to join in. All residents’ privacy is respected and attendance or involvement in events and functions is totally at your discretion.
Question: What are the rules with regard to having someone else live with me?
Answer : The details in your contract are very informative on this point. If you have a particular domestic relationship that you would like to discuss, please feel free to talk about this with our Estate Manager and/or Marketing Consultant.
Question: What system does the Estate have for resolving disputes?
Answer: The Residents Contract and the Residents Rules both outline the dispute resolution procedure in a very easy to read format.
Question: Are the residents actively involved in making village rules?
Answer: The Residents Rules are provided by the Estate Owner and are updated from time to time as Community Expectations change. The Residents Association will always be consulted about Residents Rules.
Question: What services are covered by my weekly maintenance fund/rental contribution?
Answer: The funded services and the use of the Long Term Maintenance Fund and Capital Replacement Fund are outlined in your Residents Contract. If you have a specific question about these please ask our representative. The weekly maintenance fee is set prior to the start of the financial year by the estate owner in consultation with the Residents Finance Sub-Committee.
Question: What is the role of the Estate Manager?
Answer: The Estate Manager is there to manage the affairs of the Estate and act as the first point of contact for the Residents and the Owner in any operation al matters for the Estate. The Manager programs all maintenance, services and other operational items. The Manager also supports the various Residents Committees in their functional roles and acts as an informational guide and support for each of our Residents.
